30/11/2010 – Nortech has been selected by the NSW State Government department of Industry & Investment to become a member of Australian Technology Showcase (ATS)
The ATS is a showcase of world leading innovative technology developed in Australia. The website http://ats.business.gov.au showcases hundreds of member technologies across a wide variety of industry and business applications.
Business’s nominating a technology for membership must have an innovative, Australian-developed technology with global market potential, supported by intellectual property. The company must be a small to medium sized business with annual turnover of less than $10 million, have controlling ownership resident in Australia and own the Intellectual Property (IP) in their technology. Membership applications are reviewed by a panel of independent industry experts.
Nortech is a member of the ATS and this follows on from Nortech being selected by the NSW State Government department of Industry & Investment to join their Innovation Pathways Program, early in the year (may 2010). The Innovation Pathways Program has been developed to accelerate the growth of NSW organisations seeking to commercialise innovative technologies. Nortech has been selected for innovation in creating supply chain products used by small to medium sized business. These products include application for electronic product catalogues, electronic orders, electronic invoices, and electronic payments, electronic courier messages, live warehouse + inventory management and customer service. These are key parts of small business that are often done manually or in many different systems that are not integrated.
In the SME space there are many systems available and there is a need for a universal connector. Also small business can’t cope with all the different applications they end up with using, and they end up still printing a lot of paper and experience unnecessary staff requirements, and inefficiencies.
The aim of the GoFar application is to provide a single interface for trading companies to manage all operations and transactions. This includes purchases, sales, inventory, transport, warehouse and customer service. GoFar does not replace existing systems, it does provide necessary components that are lacking, and also draws on existing applications.
