Nortech in Business Alliance Partnership with GS1
In January 2008 Nortech Australia joined the GS1 as a Business Alliance
Partner.
GS1 is a global not for profit organisation formally known as EAN. Its purpose
is to regulate industry standards worldwide in data exchange and bar code
specification.
Nortech Australia will be featured in the GS1 industry magazine called “Link”.
The article will appear in the Winter 2008 Addition of the magazine.
Nortech see’s the alliance as an opportunity to educate and be educated.
Nortech Australia prides itself on the years of experience in the IT industry,
specifically in Supply Chain Software Development and hardware. An alliance with
GS1 means Nortech Australia will be kept up to date with cutting edge
developments long before they hit the market place. In exchange Nortech will
share with industry peers and associations its years of “on the ground”
experience in a variety of supply chain scenarios. In particular Nortech will
continue to provide the following benefits to GS1 Members:
- Training and Education on EDI, Barcodes and industry standards for
trading electronically
- EDI and Scan Pack Software for trading with the major retailer
- VAN network connections to the major retailers
- Warehouse Management Systems
- Mobility, Barcodes and RFID systems
